Successful Influenza Vaccination Campaign 2023

In a proactive measure to protect the health and well-being of our community, OHSE and Community Engagement Unit in collaboration with Emirates Health Services recently organized a highly successful Influenza vaccination campaign on the 23rd & 24th Oct’ 2023.
This initiative aimed to ensure the health and safety of students, admin and faculty members, and their families by offering flu shots to a total of 210 individuals composed of kids to elderly from 4 years old to 60 years old. Showcasing a commendable example of responsible members of our community during the flu season. The seamless execution of this event underscored the dedication and cooperation between the college, healthcare professionals, and our students. By prioritizing the well-being of all our community, such campaigns demonstrate the significance of unity, determination, and responsible healthcare practices in ensuring a healthier and safer future for all.

The Community Engagement Unit, in collaboration with OHSE, successfully organized a digital Seasonal Flu Awareness Poster Competition. The competition received over 20 entries, which were prominently displayed on the campus throughout the fourth week of October, showcasing the creative talents of our students.

We are pleased to announce the winners of this event:
1st Place: "Be a Hero, Stay at Home" by Rawdha Abdulaziz and Wadha Al Hammadi.
2nd Place: "6 Flu Myths Debunked" by Radia Usman and Fathima Shabrina.
3rd Place (tie): "Cold & Flu - Signs & Symptoms" by Rushda Haider, and "Prevent Flu & Wash with Care" by Maria Mohammad Ali Al Deeb and Hanan Hassan.
 
The event was a tremendous success, serving as a reminder to faculty, professional staff, students and the community to prioritize their health and safety.
